There are six types of college parties you will see

college parties

Students’ college social lives will likely include parties, and they can be a great way to let loose, have a good time, and meet new people. Even though every college party is different, you will find that they generally fall into the same categories.

Prior to diving into the list of parties, it goes without saying that staying safe and being responsible are a must when you are out having fun and partying.

Now that that is out of the way, here is a short list of 6 types of parties you’ll see at college:

1. The Dorm Room

You probably thought you would never be partying in a closet-sized room before you went to college. Is there anywhere else where you can be silly? Dorm parties are usually low-pressure and friendly.

A limited number of partygoers can attend these parties due to the size of the collage dorm party room. You should therefore avoid being reckless. There will likely be fewer people at this party, so you will be remembered.

Having a party in your dorm room is intimate, accepting, and exhilarating. You can only do that if you are confident that you won’t get caught! Make sure everyone keeps it down to keep the party going; otherwise, the door will be slammed on yours.

2. The Theme Party

A theme party is one of the most common types of parties you will attend. It’s hard to refuse a good theme, right? Whether it’s a toga, a costume, or a beach attire, these events will require a little creativity. Getting a little silly and then justifying it the next morning is a great combination.

3. The Banger

The type of parties that will be the best are hard to predict. The reason for that is they are often the result of a combination of people, music, and venue, which makes them difficult to predict and different every time. They can be super fun, however, when they do turn into a banger. If you stumble upon one, make sure you enjoy it!

4. The Tailgate

There are also tailgate parties on the list of college parties. When two big rival college football teams play each other in a movie, this is the type of party you see. People park their cars in a large outdoor space (usually a parking lot outside a stadium) and dress in varsity colors for a night of fun. You can expect plenty of alcohol, food, games, and cheers at this type of party. Furthermore, it is one of the rare occasions when day drinking is acceptable.

Todd Mitchem, a managing disruptor at Todd Mitchem Companies, in Denver, said the snowflake test only determines surface value while potentially degrading people. “A leader’s job is to motivate, inspire, and uplift a team to achieve success,” Mitchem added. He does the opposite from the beginning, and, more importantly, he creates a culture of fear.”

Using the snowflake test tells employees that from day one, they are being judged for their personal beliefs or opinions. If they ever have a new idea, they’ll be scared to voice it out of fear of punishment for being different.

5. The Basement Bash

Most college students don’t think they’ll end up partying in basements, but it happens! It can be fun, albeit strange, to attend these underground basement parties. This type of party is not uncommon to have an unknown music band perform. Basements tend to be poorly lit, the floors tend to be sticky, and it’s usually very noisy in a basement. I hope you enjoy the show!

6. The Frat Party

One of the most iconic and stereotypical college parties is the frat party. These parties are usually hosted by fraternities and filled with alcohol, kegs (small barrels that typically contain drinks), students, and general silliness.

Every college has different fraternities, and they can be academic or non-academic. A good example of an academic fraternity would be an engineering fraternity or a business fraternity. Other non-academic fraternities might fall into the categories of social, service, and professional. Before attending any of their events, you should research which fraternity is the best fit for you since many fraternities require you to be a member in order to participate.

Due to their tendency to be more social, frat parties are an effective way to make new friends. You just have to know when to call it a night! Check out these 10 things you can expect to happen at a frat party by Elite Daily to learn more about what a frat party is like.

Stay Safe!

The most important ingredient of your college experience is partying (in moderation)! You need to make sure to stay safe when attending these parties.

If you need to make an emergency call, make sure your phone is fully charged before you leave. Stick with known and trusted people. This will help you stay safe. To stay safe while having fun, we recommend going through this list of 12 College Party Safety Tips from Best Colleges.
