Know All About UAN Activation & its Benefits

Employees’ Provident Fund Organization (EPFO) provides the benefit of savings and you can avail of more of its services. You can do UAN Activation online by visiting the official website of EPFO. Once the UAN is activated, you can use the online service by which you can check your EPF balance, card, personal details, update details, etc. So, keep reading this page further to know more about the UAN Activation process.

Know Your UAN Number

Do you know your UAN? If not, check the same online by following the below steps –

Visit the EPFO website
On the login page, you’ll see important links
Click on the ‘Know Your UAN’ button
Enter your mobile number and a displayed captcha
Click on ‘Request OTP’
Enter the OTP
Now, your UAN will be displayed

What Steps Do I Need to Take for UAN Activation?

You can activate your UAN number by following the instructions shown below –

Go to the official website of EPFO
Click on the ‘Activate UAN’ button present in the important link section
A new page will appear
Enter your UAN number
Select state and office
Enter PAN and Aadhaar number, name, date of birth, mobile number, email address, captcha
Click on the ‘Get Authorization PIN’ button
Tick the ‘I Agree’ box
Input the OTP you receive
Go to ‘Validate OTP and Activate UAN’

Now, your UAN number is activated and the UAN Login Password is sent to your registered mobile via SMS.

Do UAN Login to Use EPF Online Facilities

When your UAN is activated, you can use the following online services at the EPFO portal –

Online Claim

File a claim online by visiting the website of EPFO. For this, below are the steps you need to follow –

Input your UAN number and password for login
Click on the ‘Online Service’ and select ‘Claim (Form 31, 19, 10C & 10D)’ from the drop-down menu
Enter your bank account details
Click on the ‘Verify’ button
Click on the ‘Yes’ button for EPF terms and conditions
Select the purpose of withdrawal
Enter your address
Upload passbook or cheque
Click on the ‘Generate OTP’ button
Now, you will receive an OTP on your Aadhaar-linked mobile
Enter the same and click on the ‘Validate OTP’ button

Upon successful submission of the claim form, you’ll get a notification on your registered mobile.

Track Claim Status

If you have filed a claim online using the UAN Activation online services, track it by following the below steps –

Go to your EPF account using UAN Login
Click on the ‘Online Services’ button and select ‘Track Claim’ from the drop-down
Now, the same will be displayed on your screen

You can find out whether your claim has been approved or declined. In case of rejection, the reason for the same will be mentioned in the claim status.

Transfer Request

You can transfer your EPF account using the online services, just follow the below steps –

Do UAN Login to transfer online
Click on the ‘Online Services’ button
Select ‘ONE MEMBER – ONE EPF ACCOUNT (Transfer Request)’
Select your account and click on the ‘Get details’ button
Click on the ‘Get OTP’ button
Enter the same that you get on your mobile and go to ‘Submit’

Now, the transfer is successful, and you can track your request online.
