Fortnite currently has five skins of the Caped Crusader in its collection, and the list keeps growing. The count might go up to six with the potential inclusion of Robert Pattinson’s version of The Batman.
Epic Games has been increasing its roster of superhero skins that are available in the Fortnite item shop. The gaming studio has been well-known for collaborating with popular gaming titles, series, and movies such as Kratos from God of War, Marvel characters, John Wick, and many more. Since Fortnite has a penchant for having cross-over skins with characters from newly released movies, a lot of gamers have speculated that the Dark Knight from The Batman movie is set to make an appearance.
The Batman Movie in Fortnite
Matt Reeves was an unexpected successful rendition of the Batman. Robert Pattinson’s Neo-Noir version of the titular character was met with skepticism prior to the movie’s release. With so many Batman movies already available, fans did not expect the film to be such a hit. Considering that Epic Games has a good relationship with DC Comics, it was inevitable that a popular movie like The Batman would soon find its way into the hands of gamers with Fortnite accounts.
Fortnite has been known to make crossovers with popular superhero films to either promote the motion picture even further or to ride the hype of the movie. In this case, The Batman’s successful screening enabled the possibility of this version of the Caped Crusader to enter Fortnite. So far rumors have already confirmed that another version of Batman’s skin is on its way to the game, and it is set to drop a week later.
Unfortunately for fans, there are no other details regarding the new skin other than its potential release date. However, it is very likely that the new cosmetic will feature a similar style to the one shown in Matt Reeves’ the Batman. This rendition had a more gothic and noir feel which was the best fit for the film’s grim atmosphere.
Fortnite’s Existing Batman Related Skins
Epic Games have already released multiple various versions of the Caped Crusader in the game. The current count is five with the latest Dark Knight skin being the Batman Who Laughs. Here is the list of all the current skins of the Greatest Detective available in the game:
- Batman Comic Book Outfit
- The Dark Knight Movie Outfit
- Batman Zero
- Armoured Batman Zero
- The Batman Who Laughs
When the new skin of the Caped Crusader comes up, the total skin count will be up to six. However, fans can expect that Fortnite will not halt its crossovers with DC that are related to the Dark Knight. Alongside the titular hero, Fortnite has also released a Joker skin and a Poison Ivy outfit which are counted as some of the most popular skins in the game.
Fans have also been asking Epic Games to include more skins based on the villains that Batman has encountered over the years. These villains include The Penguin, The Riddler, Two-Face, Scarecrow, and Bane. Having outfits based on these characters would make a nice collection of supervillains in the game.
Other Rumored Collaborations
The Noir version of the Batman isn’t the only skin rumored to be making its way into the popular battle royale game. In fact, this collab was only one of the latest potential crossover cosmetics that Epic Games have been planning for some time. Here are the other potential characters that might parachute their way into the island:
John Cena’s Peacemaker
Way back in 2021, ShiinaBR, who is a regular Fortnite leaker, revealed that Epic Games is considering releasing another character from the Suicide Squad. Other members of the infamous villain squad, Deadshot and Bloodsport, have already been released as part of a Fortnite x Suicide Squad crossover. With the rumor about a new collab from the franchise, gamers have speculated that the character will be none other than Peacemaker.
Peacemaker has already been given spin-off series and has become wildly popular among DC fans. John Cena himself teased a potential collab between his character and the popular game after he shared a picture of the Fortnite Chapter 3 Island map on his social media account. The official release date for the outfit has not been confirmed yet.
Ezio From Assassin’s Creed
The AC series has been one of the most popular game series in the industry, and rumors about a potential crossover between the fast-paced parkour series and Epic Game’s battle royale has been circulating within the gaming community. This collab has been confirmed as Fortnite has already announced it at the start of March. It is a great time for DC fans with Fortnite accounts to play the game. With so many superhero outfits available, a lot of players will be very happy once the new Dark Knight skin drops into the game. In the meantime, Fortnite gamers should enjoy the popular battle royale before Chapter 3 Season 1 ends.
